Darkness & The Light - Read the Story Online

While I’m not a big a Lovecraft fan as many of my contemporaries and friends, the “style” of Lovecraft’s horror - the idea of things just beyond our world that are so beyond our comprehension we can’t even grasp their existence - appeals to me. I have written a number of “Lovecraftian” stories over the years, several of them appear in this volume - The Fall of the House of Escher is one, The Call of Farther Shores is another. This is one of my favorites.
Since it was reprinted online by Apex Online - and it is still in their archive - I’m providing the link here for your reading pleasure. It was first printed in THE GOSSAMER EYE - which I wrote 1/3 of - and which won the Bram Stoker Award for poetry. Some of what we included was NOT poetry, as you will see.
